Haw’s Tae Kwon Do School
Mr. T.W. Haw was an 8th degree blackbelt (8th Dan). He began instructing Tae Kwon Do in Nashville TN in 1969 where he first founded the Vanderbilt University Tae Kwon Do Club and then added Haw’s Tae Kwon Do School off-campus during the 1980’s. Mr. Haw was the first instructor of Tae Kwon Do in Tennessee.
Tae Kwon Do, sometimes called “Korean karate,” is the Korean martial art. It means, literally, “The Art of Kicking and Punching,” and it is derived from more primitive techniques of hand, foot and head fighting that were used in Korea as early as the first century of the Christian Era.
Our club is a member of the Korea Tae Kwon Do Association (Moo Duk Kwan), the World Tae Kwon Do Federation, and all ranks are Kukkiwon-certified.
